Comlux reels in first ACJ320neo gig

Completions provider Comlux recently signed a VIP interior completion contract for an ACJ320neo aircraft – a first for the company – for an undisclosed Asian customer.

According to a company statement, the aircraft is to be delivered in its standard green condition by Airbus to Comlux’ Indianapolis, IN, facilities in September 2019 and is scheduled to take approximately 10 months to complete – “one of the shortest completion cycles to date,” comments Comlux Completions CEO Scott Meyer.

Four design firms have been invited to provide design concepts: Alberto Pinto Design, DesignQ, Unique Aircraft and Winch Design. In order to shorten the cabin completion downtime to 10 months, the final design is expected to be selected before the end of this quarter.

“It was key for us to sign [this contract] at the soonest to optimize the lead-time execution for design, engineering and custom fabrication phases prior to input,” Meyer added. “We are running several ACJ neo and BBJ MAX cabin sales campaigns right now and we are expecting to sign more contracts before the end of the year.”
