Progress Slow for Dassault
Dassault delivered 45 Falcons and 5 Rafales in the first half year of 2010.
30/07/2010
The 1st half year was characterised by the Group’s achievements both in Falcon deliveries
and profitability. However, due to the persistent crisis, Dassault is still facing uncertainties.
Even though the pace of Falcon order cancellations is decreasing, new orders are taking time to pick up again. Additionally, a soar in national debts is expected to lead to defense budgets restrictions, notably in France.
The numbers:
- Orders: 2 Falcons
- Deliveries: 45 Falcons and 5 Rafales
- Net sales: € 1,990 million (up 44% vs last year)
- Operating income: € 248 million (up 104%)
- Operating margin: 12.4% (up 8.7%)
- Net income: € 170 million (up 37%)
- Net margin: 8.5% (down 9%)
2010 net sales should be comparable to 2009 net sales, with deliveries of the order of 85 Falcons and 11 Rafales. Owing to the significant number of available-for-sale pre-owned aircraft on a worldwide scale, the Group does not predict a business aviation market recovery in the short term.
On a side note - The Falcon 900LX was certified this July.
